This film definitely has its good moments, even though it takes a long time for the whole thing to really get going. You're constantly wondering where this is going, where is this going, and then it becomes a sort of love version of The Human Centipede. It's a nice idea, and it works, but the gore is minimal to nonexistent, which is a shame, as the true horror ultimately fails to materialize. Still, I enjoyed this film, and the story and characters are captivating. 3 stars.

An effective, often quite gruesome horror film with an original, bizarre plot. The rather lighthearted tone occasionally misleads, allowing the film's scary elements to truly shine. Certain jump scares early in the film are also very effectively edited. And the fact that the characters are so likable only makes the events all the more horrific.

Tim [Dave Franco] and Millie [Alison Brie] begin a new chapter in a small town, hoping Tim's neuroses won't destroy their relationship. During a nature walk, they get lost and trapped in a cave for a while. This event proves to have a lasting impact on this bizarre psychological horror film in the vein of The Substance. The fact that Franco and Brie are actually lovers adds a certain curiosity, but the bizarre premise evokes surprise rather than horror or suspense.
