Pisni Zemli, Shcho Povilno Horyt plot

The audiovisual diary of Ukraine’s immersion in the abyss of total war, recorded over two years in various proximity to the front line, traces the subtle changes in Ukrainian society. The frayed chords of panic and horror of the first weeks of the Russian invasion slowly fade into the numb silence of acceptance of death and destruction, which eventually becomes the tragic norm for the local population, but a sideshow for the rest of the world. Against the backdrop of the (meta)physical landscape of collective disaster, a new generation of Ukrainians tries to imagine the future.

A visual collage about the first two years of the war in Ukraine, filmed at various locations with a static, seemingly unnoticed camera. Provides a remarkable, authentic picture of societal change in the broadest sense of the word. Some moments are also too good to be true.
