Campo di Battaglia plot
During the First World War, the doctor Stefano works in a hospital in northern Italy. He helps the wounded soldiers, but also ensures that they appear before the military court if they attempt to evade their military duty. Giulio is a doctor who does everything he can to make his patients even sicker so that they are exempt from returning to the front. The two men studied together and maintained a good friendship, but also have a common interest in the nurse Anna.
