An unremarkable work of Sri Lankan make. In any case, a low budget and the limited resources available gave a rather old-fashioned effect. The plot is not that original. A neighbor has a crush on his beautiful neighbor. When his spouse is away for some time, the principle of "looking is allowed, but not touching" also disappears. It reminded me a bit of the Japanese film Ai no Bôrei (Film, 1978) with the difference that no one is murdered here .
But there is even more backbiting. Not only from his own father, but from the entire village community. Backbiting that is difficult for the man to deal with and in this case he decides to deny water access to the village.
Well, it didn't really warm me up at all. Fortunately, the playing time is very limited and it is not too bad to get through the hour. But I wouldn't call this film recommendable. Nice to pick up, but no more than that.
