"Guilt is a place you can never leave."
James is a broken man after his relationship with the love of his life, Mary, ends. He receives a mysterious letter from her to return to Silent Hill. There he finds a once recognizable town transformed by an unknown evil. As James desperately searches for Mary, he encounters terrifying creatures and begins to unravel the mystery of what happened to the town. But as he descends deeper into the darkness, the secrets he discovers lead to a horrifying truth.

A mediocre to weak horror film. The story is its biggest drawback. It's chaotic and scattershot, quickly losing the viewer's attention. The execution is inconsistent. The atmosphere is strongly established with beautiful sets and gruesome creatures. The CGI isn't always impressive, but it's generally adequate. Despite this grim atmosphere, however, it fails to generate tension. The acting is passable. 2.0/2.5

A psychological horror thriller.
Anyone who doesn't understand the metaphor in this film will give it a low rating.
Such a shame, because the film is incredibly well-crafted (you only find out what's going on at the end) and boasts beautiful cinematography, set in the post-apocalyptic, fictional town of Silent Hill. It also has a good suspense and atmosphere that keeps you watching and wanting to know what's going on. And in the end, everything falls into place. It turns out to be a true romance.
And to top it all off, Bach's music Air played from the radio; goosebumps...
I don't understand the very low reviews for this film.
