"A Terrifying True Story Revealed by SimpleMan."
Six students travel to a remote village to conduct work study. Once they have arrived, they are warned by the village head not to cross the border of the forbidden gate. This gate leads to a mysterious place that may be connected to the spirit of a beautiful dancer. When the students break an important rule in the village, they are confronted with terrifying revelations that put their safety at risk.

An atmospheric, grand horror film based on digital source material. Director Awi Suryadi excels at bridging the fine line between the human and the paranormal, which is broken early on. Characters constantly encounter grim individuals or strange situations, making for a smooth reunion, especially from the very beginning. After that, it becomes clear that the story doesn't have much going for it, and it culminates in a disappointing finale. The most regrettable aspect is the primary antagonist. This Badarawuhi isn't the most intimidating presence, and you can throw anything at him to make things exciting, but it doesn't have any effect. What remains is a far-too-long running time, needlessly serious characters, and a sensational finale. Incidentally, I saw the 175-minute extended version, but almost 20 minutes of that consisted of sneak peeks of films like Sewu Dino.
