The Sunflyers plot

It's summer and the various model airplane clubs in the area are getting ready to participate in the annual air show. For the club 'The Sunflyers' it is their last participation. Still, they want to make the best of it and ask the 83-year-old former Belgian champion Hubert to join them.

One of Mielants' first productions, at the time at the short film festival in Leuven. What a great cast he was able to gather for this. Really impressive with also Reinhilde Decleir, Jeroen Van Dyck and Peter Van den Eede.

Bompa has a hobby that has gotten out of hand, but that is hardly appreciated by his wife and daughter. The jolly gang then performs a final trick, but they are not really welcomed there either. Particularly nice intermezzos such as during the performance. Nicely satirical and sarcastic and then you have an ideal casting with Peter Van den Eede. Something that would also have been tailor-made for Stefaan Degand, but he was now in the loser camp.

Very nice film. It seems like a piece of (Flemish) folklore.
