"Just when you think you're out of the woods"
After her late fiancé's funeral, Olivia is found in her bathtub with her wrist cut. Her friends - Sam, Clayton, Theresa and Liam - suspect that she wanted to commit suicide. However, Olivia herself claims that she was attacked. However, as a group they go into the woods for a holiday at the lake. When Olivia's therapy dog goes missing, everyone begins to suspect that Clayton, a strange and right-wing gun enthusiast, is responsible. In addition, Olivia becomes increasingly paranoid as her friends begin to believe that she is the one going crazy and they cannot accept that she was ever actually attacked.

Producer Kyle Newacheck made the directorial debut possible for his brother Adam, but unfortunately it probably won't get high marks. The unambitious content in particular is a reasonable detractor for the whole, but even as a purer genre work it has little effect. It takes a very long time before things start to loosen up and by then almost an hour has already passed. Too drawn out to deliver such an empty finale as a treat, but fortunately the mystery still works somewhat. Once the pace is increased in the last 20 minutes, the viewer is guaranteed some decent entertainment, but the uninteresting characters and inconsistent tension build-up single-handedly ensure that Stranger in the Woods is doomed to mediocrity.
