A bit of lame stuff. Quite a bit happens in The Bridge Curse, which seems to be part of the Taiwanese Curse universe, but I can't say anything within those events really affected me. In principle, there is little wrong with a horror film that is full of bombast, but it must be effective in some way. I found the threats the characters face in this film rather unfinished (the usual ghosts in the hallway and laughing kids around the corner), and the police story that is interwoven throughout them irritating. There's absolutely no need (in my opinion) to make a movie like this more complex than it needs to be, so the confusing timeline shuffling didn't bother me. On the other hand, there is good use of nice filters, a more than decent decoration and some horror scenes that pack a punch. There are some shortcomings due to the slowing and then suddenly accelerating pace, but all in all it is not a tiring ride. That doesn't change the fact that there are quite a few downsides to discover, which is why I didn't exactly end the end credits with a positive feeling.
