The Jester plot
"Now you see me. Now you die."
After the death of their father, two sisters are confronted by a violent entity called "The Jester". On Halloween night, the entity sows death and destruction in the small town. The only ones who can save the town are the two sisters. To achieve this, they must correct past mistakes.

Director Colin Krawchuk has had some success on YouTube with his short horror films and apparently thought it was time to try his luck with a feature film debut. Unfortunately, some ideas work better in short format and The Jester is a good example of that, especially since the extended minutes are mainly filled with endless conversations and other nonsense. The actors are also not capable enough to handle so much drama, and so there are a lot of characters in this film that take the concept of "boring" to a new level. Fortunately, there is still the antagonist, nicely portrayed by Michael Sheffield. He provides some amusing murders and that is usually combined with nice backgrounds. Krawchuk manages to score a few extra points with that, but he doesn't get much further than that for now.

A kind of light version of Art the Clown from the Terrifier series. The film opens mysteriously with some bizarre performances by the clown. After the introduction of the two sisters, the story gradually gains momentum with a few enjoyable scenes, such as the scene in the convenience store where the two police officers encounter the clown. However, the film isn't entirely convincing due to a weaker second half, where the storyline is a bit far-fetched and lacks any tension. 6/10
