Another abysmally bad sequel in the VHS franchise. The stories become duller with the sequel. The infomercials that are thrown in at every opportunity also slide towards total nonsense. What else is this about? This way I don't have to do it anymore and it would be better to pull the plug. No story really stands out. The very first one still had some potential, but that was not fulfilled. Everything that follows after the first ten minutes wasn't worth wasting time or electricity on.

One of the weaker entries in the series, though the last episode directed by Scott Derrickson is up with the best that the series has ever produced.

V/H/S/85

Slightly better than its predecessor.

I thought the first story was decent. We saw a group of 7 camping next to a special lake and then they suddenly had visitors. The story has an unnecessarily long build-up, but it ended well.

I thought the second story was the weakest part. We saw a news program hit by an earthquake. Because of course everyone was in panic after the earthquake, it was filmed quite chaotically. However, the bloody scenes were well depicted. Towards the end it unfortunately just became laughable.

The third part could still survive. We saw a woman on stage tell her story about God and that contemporary (in 1985) technology has driven God away. Now she wanted to look for the new God in the digital world using VR. She didn't find God, but she did find something else. It wasn't special or anything, but I was drawn into what the lady was saying on stage and it became more and more intense. The final climax was also fine and bloody.

The fourth part was therefore an extension of the first story. Here we saw the perpetrator and her family in the picture and we see what the consequences were for them. Also nicely done, but not very special.

Then last but not least the best story, part five. A burglar slaughtered residents, but there was something special. The detectives had already received a tape a week earlier that showed the same murder. Now they had to find out who gave them those tapes, because it did not stop at just 1 victim. This was very well done and the ending was also nice and bloody.

3 stars.

Sixth part in the series again, this time with a lot of grimy blurred images and deliberately amateurish camera work. You have to be able to handle that, as this visual approach is quite tough. Fortunately, the short stories again have the necessary gruesome and especially bloody aspects, which just make things bearable. The involvement of now renowned directors such as Scott Derrickson and David Bruckner is also a plus.
