Just a nice film, not spectacular, but that shouldn't always be the case. The acting was good and it kept me interested, so a 7 out of 10 for me...

Nowhere

Wow, what a ride this was. An emotional rollercoaster.

The film actually immediately became quite moving when a man and her heavily pregnant wife tried to escape from their country with the help of a truck driver. Unfortunately, Mia and her husband were separated because the truck's container was too full. Mia hid in a container with a group of other refugees, but they were discovered anyway. Everyone was unceremoniously shot, but Mia managed to survive by hiding on some stacked crates. Ultimately, her container ended up in the sea due to a storm and from here she had to survive while she was also heavily pregnant.

Respect for how Mia managed to give birth in a container at sea during a storm, managed to care for the baby, care for herself and then get her baby and herself to safety , after the container has finally sunk. She had some luck with the remaining cargo that was also in the container, but still. There were also plenty of things going against her and then she also lost her husband. In any case, she gave it her all.

I didn't expect it to be such a beautifully moving film and despite the fact that the vast majority took place in the container, the film was never boring.

4 stars.

Solid drama thriller filmed largely in 1 location. Similar concepts have been used before, underground, in a cave, on an island, and so on... I thought the dystopian setting was less successful. It's just a side story, especially in the beginning, but other than that it's irrelevant.

The link with real refugees is quickly made, with the sea having a treacherous reputation for giving and, above all, taking. All in all, certainly not badly done. The creative mind apparently explodes when you are in an emergency situation. Hopefully also for klutzes like me if it ever matters...

The film sags a bit after the halfway mark, but remains entertaining nonetheless. Not bad, but not memorable either. Sometimes a bit too coincidental, such as the scenes with the whales.

Crying babies are my brother and from halfway through the film it is almost the constant background noise. I also thought it was all so exaggerated. What customs is that shooting refugees to bits? Such a thing really only exists in Netflix's sick imagination. Certain scenes were excitingly depicted, such as the container ship in the storm, but the monotony still dominates.
