You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah (2023)

Quite a nice movie... At least, if you're a teenage girl. A simple story about typical teenage problems such as popularity, falling in love, friendship, jealousy, quarrels, etcetera.... Not so fascinating. I had hoped that Adam Sandler would have a slightly bigger role, but it is mainly his daughter who is in the picture. In terms of humor it is not too bad, most of it is bland but there are still some funny scenes in it. But unfortunately it's not enough for a positive review, I'd rather just see Adam Sandler without his family.

Not great. The film is not really funny anywhere, but that is what the film tries to be. That doesn't work and results in many lame parts. The film also lasts just a little too long and has absolutely no surprises. On the other hand, the film looks reasonable and the feel-good atmosphere is quite okay. There's really nothing more to say about it. And that says enough. 2.5*.

Growing up sometimes goes “ouch”. Simple film about a disturbed friendship when you are introduced to falling in love as an adolescent. I'm not a fan of Adam Sandler. So that doesn't help either.
