Fighter plot
Wanting to fulfill his lifelong dream, Shamsher "Party" Pathania joins the Air Force. There he faces some personal challenges. Patty will have to push his boundaries if he wants to be a true hero for his homeland.

Great movie.
With a fighter jet film we will of course always make the comparison with Top Gun. But this comparison does not fully apply here. The film is indeed about fighter jets, but the scenes in it are much more limited than in Top Gun. This is much more about a team where the characters are well developed. And yes, there are links with Top Gun, such as the toned bodies, macho types, sunglasses, riding motorcycles, the parties and the stunning leading actress, the loss of a colleague, etc., but this one is different. Action in the air is rather limited and you can see that it is CGI here, where Top Gun seemed more realistic in the air. Furthermore, the action here is closer to the end and also more on the ground.
The emphasis on the jets is much lower here.
I also like an Indian film, but it always takes some getting used to the typical musical intermezzos. Then the protagonists suddenly start singing and dancing as a group. We are not used to this in our culture, but in Bollywood films this is common, both in drama and action films. But these singing and dancing moments weren't too bad and didn't bother us. But still a bit strange. There are also some successful emotional moments. The long duration of 2:45 didn't bother me either.
Think it's a successful film.
You must be a fan of Bollywood.

Reasonable action film. The story is not particularly complicated. The execution is quite successful. The build-up is good and the tension is increased during the film to an action-packed final spectacle. Until then, tension, action and drama alternate well without becoming boring. Of course, it is all Bollywood-style, so a lot of slow motion, heroic scenes and playing with the laws of nature with of course some dance and singing intermezzos. Visually all strongly portrayed with reasonable cgi. 3.0/3.5
