"9 lives just isn't enough..."
Beckett is a spoiled and selfish cat who takes the happiness he has been given for granted. However, that is about to change when he carelessly loses his ninth life. Faced with the inevitable, he begs to return to his perfect life. Naturally, his request is denied at first, but in a moment of exceptional empathy, the higher powers allow him to return to Earth with a new set of lives. What Beckett doesn't immediately realize, however, is that each of these new lives will see him return in a variety of different forms, each teaching him a valuable and timely lesson.

The Spanish slogan is: "Porque 7 no son suficientes." In Spain, it is believed that a cat has seven lives. This is in contrast to the standard nine lives in this animated film. The main character Beckett is even given the opportunity to have ten lives.
A successful family film with a predictable story, but which also contains a few nice one-liners.

Beckett [Mo Gilligan] is the spoiled, lazy cat of student Rose [Simone Ashley] who is involved in ecological research on bees. When he loses his ninth life, 'gatekeeper'/animal nurse Grace [Sophie Okonedo] gives him his nine lives back... but not in the way he expected. Far-fetched mix of Garfield and Stairway To Heaven with a confused story that also includes a role for Bill Nighy as a professor who tries to thwart Rose's scientific research for his own greater glory. Fortunately, the animation is passable.
