The Kerala Story plot

"Uncovering the truth that was kept hidden"

Fatima Ba, a Muslim convert, is accused of being a terrorist and arrested at the Afghan-Iranian border. During her interrogation it becomes clear that her real name is Shalini Unnikrishnan and she is from the Indian state of Kerala. Initially, she studies nursing and during her education she gets to know three other women, Nimah, Geethanjali and Asifa, and befriends them. Asifa is a Muslim woman and together with her acquaintances she tries to make the Hindu women realize that Islam is the only right way. Under pressure they accept Islam, but what Shalini doesn't know is that she is actually being used for Jihad. She is kidnapped and illegally deported across the border to be used as a suicide bomber for ISIS.
