Mr. K plot

The traveling magician Mr K discovers that he cannot find the exit of the hotel in which he spent the night. This is the starting point of a Kafkaesque nightmare. The harder he tries to leave the building, the deeper he becomes entangled in the intrigue of the hotel and its wonderful guests and residents.

In short, Mr. K is a typical film that there should be more of. Critical and colorful – however drizzly – about how we behave as people, but set in a half-flooded hotel full of bizarre characters and confrontations. Think Roy Andersson on acid. This lends itself perfectly to a double feature with a work by one of the many other absurdist and surrealist filmmakers that the history of cinema is rich in.

That doesn't mean that Mr. K doesn't stand alone, far from it! For an extensive opinion I refer to my full review.

Is a film that leaves you with an unpleasant feeling. It is dark, dirty and claustrophobic. Definitely not recommended for people who like to watch romcoms. The people he meets seem to have lived in the hotel for years, but there must be recent visitors with the same problem. Food was prepared for guests in the kitchen? You can't climb out of the window. Fun to see once.
