She goes to Barrett's annual party with her friend Zara to convince him. Eden finds evidence on his phone that links him to the disappearance of a student. Disturbed by the discovery, Eden locks himself in a master bedroom with Zara. After Wildfire (2023), this film is the penultimate film by Anne Heche, who died last year in a car accident at the age of 53. She plays, together with Dermot Mulroney, the parents of the wealthy Barrett who only appear late in the story. Their part gives the story a surprising twist that you may or may not like. The story is well constructed, with one location in particular where the lead actress Eden accidentally discovers a secret of Barrett's, which means that the group of Barrett's friends want to keep the secret at all costs, given their future prospects and the status of his father. Together with her friend Zara, she tries to keep out of the group's grasp. A few nice scenes follow, especially the moments when Eva and Zara are locked in a bedroom where there seems no way out. Then the story has another twist whereby the location is also abandoned. Decent. 6.5/10

Entertaining little thing that has a solid first hour and then goes off the rails during the last half hour. Fortunately, the young cast members cannot be blamed, McKaley Miller in particular does very well as the protagonist. Directors Beth Hanna and Jerren Lauder manage to keep things fairly unpredictable once the thriller elements come out and take advantage of rare moments of tension. Although it is quickly clear which genre direction You're Killing Me hopes to take, there is still a spark of mystery injected into the whole thing that keeps things entertaining. Once Anne Heche and Dermot Mulroney are introduced, things go wrong, mainly due to the latter's mediocre acting. The bloodshed is also not hard enough, so you don't have to hope for a banging finale. It is a somewhat bitter ending to a nice genre work, because the film looks good. Those interested would do well to know that there is little horror involved, this is thriller work through and through.

What a blunder this was, literally everything was abominable about this film. There was not even a slightest sense of horror, über irritating (main) characters, from McKay Miller, who plays Eden to Anne Heche and Dermot Mulroney. The entire film was pure rubbish, the acting performances, the audiovisual, the absent atmosphere and experience.

Oh well, when I look at those 2 directors, one apparently already has 3 monsters and for the other this was her first.

Realy, haven't you seen this thing yet, wise advice, skip it without a doubt.

A 1 or 2/10 for this.
