Ella is on the eve of her 39th birthday. She feels pressured by her family, friends and society to have children. Feeling her biological clock ticking doesn't exactly help. She enlists the help of a clinic, but what price is she willing to pay to begin this procedure?

Clock doesn't exactly run like a clock, certainly not a Swiss watch. I think they call these kinds of films a psychological thriller, but a somewhat weaker one. Takes a very long time before it picks up some momentum, you have the idea of watching more of a drama. Finally some creepy scenes in the last half hour, but it is so limited, and the gaps in the storytelling are so large, that as a viewer you mainly get confused in the end of fear. Very predictable too, and yes such a final scene (Ella sees a fish crawling out of the water, which is an indication to the viewer that she is going to evaluate herself until probably cured) is quite nice, but most have already dropped out quite disappointed.

The feature film debut of director Alexis Jacknow is certainly not inconspicuous, but all in all it falls a bit short of rising far above the horror level. Perhaps the content creators were guided a little too much by conveying a political message, because this certainly creates some images that are far too subtle towards the finale. Dianna Agron also delivers a convincing performance in the leading role, the other characters tend a little too much towards caricature. Perhaps Jacknow does not offer them enough space to be truly distinctive, but ultimately it is not the characters that do it for him. The horror side of Clock completes the film, with a striking amount of atmospheric images. The whole thing takes a while to start up, but as the last half hour approaches the viewer is amply rewarded. You just have to find it somewhat mysterious on a psychological level, otherwise a film like Clock will quickly lose its effectiveness. A more subtle finale, more attention to the science fiction side and perhaps a slightly less slow start could have worked wonders, but I watched the final unraveling with fascination.

Quite the disturbing opening sequence, and it's deliciously beautiful. Dianna Agron looks simply Stunning, end of thought.
Trusting in technology can be a scary and often dangerous proposition, and it appears as if we're putting quite a bit of trust in that they're actually doing what they say.
This is psychologically disturbing, and still, I can't turn away from the madness of it all. It appears that in the midst of all the madness, we seem to have found some clarity or have we?
This film will damage some viewer's mental capacity for reasoning and their ability to emotionally grasp all they've seen and felt.
