Mediocre action film, but plenty of worse ones have been made. The story is simple, but that 'belongs' to the genre. The effect is fine. The action scenes do not excel in originality and are not very special, but they do look expertly made. There is little real tension. The actors aren't that bad for a B-movie. The so-called plot twist at the end was unnecessary and actually adds nothing. Visually nothing to complain about. 2.5/3.0

The concept sounds promising, but director Kevin Grevioux seems too regularly interested in the flat development of the main characters. It always escapes me why these types of fight films have to spend so much time on background and additional drama, as it rarely provides added value. Once the action is depicted, the film revives, especially since Grevioux's techniques as a director are not bad. Quickly cut, well edited and colorfully decorated, King of Killers makes a nice modern impression. I have also always had a soft spot for Frank Grillo and continue to find it a shame that he only appears in B-movies. This is slightly better within Grillo's career, but the nonsensical stretching of the plot creates an unbalanced pace, causing the film to regularly lapse into dullness.
