"Welcome to the land of opportunity"

Two undocumented immigrants take on a simple job. They have to dig a hole somewhere in no man's land. When they discover that their two clients turn out to be psychopathic criminals, the immigrants must survive the upcoming night. A much more difficult job than expected.

Well-acted crime thriller that in its concept is somewhat reminiscent of an unfinished version of a Quentin Tarantino film, mainly characterized by a length that is twice as short as such material. Many scenes have a long build-up that then ends in a short explosion of violence, but director John Stalberg Jr. and his screenwriters ensure that the content always remains intact. Bad Hombres has few surprises in its execution, but looks good and is especially captivating because of the endearing acting of specifically Hemky Madera and Thomas Jane. The appearance of Tyrese Gibson is never fully justified, but nevertheless this is all in all a fine genre work with an effectively compact duration.
