Thin, thoughtful doctor Toshihide lives with his grandfather and their maid Kiyo-san in a house converted into a clinic in a coastal town. One day, Toshihide's aunt comes in with the young tourist Ako, who bears a striking resemblance to the woman he is in love with. When Ako moves in with him after a hassle with her hotel, Toshihide discovers she is carrying more luggage than her suitcase can handle.
