Maria Schneider, 1983 plot
The interview with actor Maria Schneider on French television in 1983 has lost little of its topicality almost forty years later. Schneider talks about abuses in the film industry and the vulnerable position in which female actors find themselves. Without naming it, it is obvious that she is referring (among other things) to her traumatic experience on the set of Bertolucci's Last Tango in Paris (1972). Everything she says about her own experiences and those of her peers in a male-dominated world sounds awfully familiar to us.
