Another disappointing sequel in the Magic Mike series. Despite a shorter playing time than its predecessors, boredom crept in regularly. Except for one short scene, we don't see anyone from the original cast, except Mike. The newbies hardly have a personality. Salma Hayek was a positive appearance.

Mike is in his 40s and has left his career as a stripper for some time now. But since his business went under due to the Covid pandemic, he's been taking every opportunity to make some money, including bartending at a rich man's party where he's spotted (for far-fetched reasons) by Maxandra Mendoza [Salma Hayek]. The first of a series of stripteases later, Mike suddenly finds himself a director at a prestigious London theater tasked with reviving a dusty romantic drama. Somehow they manage to persuade a number of top dancers to participate in this ambitious, but rather hopeless project in no time. Superficially like a Mickey and Judy “Let's Put On A Show” movie and basically just an excuse for a series of stripteases. In that respect it's not that different from the previous Magic Mike movies, but at least they made an effort to come up with a backstory.

Oh, there were already two parts. Apparently I should have paid more attention to the description, because this is not really my thing. Without a narrative or morals, I'd rather just give me a porno, that veiled stuff isn't really my thing.

And it started quite nicely, the intro and the first over the top affair at Hayek's house was still bearable. But after that the lack of story hits very hard, and there is only so much dance without aesthetic ambition that a person can tolerate. Well, for me anyway.
