The Comedy Man plot
Charles Byrd, also known as Chick, is an aging, seedy, second-rate actor. He has spent his adult life acting in small repertory companies in Britain, but never broke through. He barely earns any money and resists the urge to appear in commercials. Chick sees himself as a real actor, who has the ambition to tackle the classics. However, Judy, his bedfellow, is tired of his bullshit. Chick therefore wonders how long his pride will last because of the many rejections. No longer young, Chick makes one last attempt to find success in London.
