The Lair plot
"Unlocked. Unleashed."
Lieutenant Kate Sinclair, a pilot in the Royal Air Force, is shot down over Afghanistan. There, she finds refuge in an abandoned underground bunker after being chased by insurgents. In the bunker, she unwittingly releases deadly, artificial, biological weapons made by man. Sergeant Tom Hook is tasked with leading a unit to find Sinclair and is assisted by a handful of British SAS troops. They will have to face the insurgents and the deadly creatures that are half human, half alien during the rescue mission.

Moderate action horror movie. The story is thin and actually not important, so mind at zero. The effect just doesn't work. The film has a nice pace and there is enough distraction in the form of action and tension. Does it all make sense… no, of course not. All a bit stupid, especially the end, where the special effects are also of a questionable level. The acting isn't too good either. Just pass for a B-movie. 2.5/3.0

Watched today and this movie surprised me very much! A mix of horror and action/war.
A woman crashes her plane in the middle of the desert of Afghanistan, she hides in a bunker from the troops, but in that bunker lives a bunch of murderous creatures!
But in the meantime she is also being chased by the Talibans and therefore also the creatures, once outside she is picked up again by a bunch of Americans and together with them they fight the creatures that stalk their territory.
Then they head back to the creatures' "bunker" and take on the monsters!
The monsters resemble Predators / Venoms and look very good, there is a lot of killing, shooting and many explosions, there is not 1 but several monsters.
The Afghans also return to that place later in the film.
All in all a very surprising horror/action film that I enjoyed a lot, enough gore and shooting and lots of monsters!
Highly recommended!

Simple, but very effective horror film where the pace is quite high and gives the viewer no rest given the many bloody action scenes. It's not all that original and the proceedings are quite predictable, but the film offers enough entertainment. After The Reckoning (2020), this is the second film in which director Marshall gives his girlfriend the leading role. 6.5/10
