Broad Peak plot
Maciej Berbeka makes the first winter ascent of Broad Peak in 1988 and narrowly escapes death. Andrzej Zawada, the expedition leader, announces a great success. Back in Poland, it turns out that Maciej has "only" reached the Rocky Summit, which is twenty-three meters lower than the actual summit. Berbeka is outraged by the lies of his friends and withdraws from mountaineering. Twenty-four years later, he receives a call from Krzysztof Wielicki, who also took part in the first expedition. "We have to finish what we started," Krzysztof says, persuading Maciej to join the next Broad Peak expedition. After much hesitation, Maciej decides to try again.

It's difficult to make a compelling movie about mountaineering without all kinds of avalanches, falling boulders, etc.
I thought the images were spectacular. The often difficult conditions of mountaineering were well illustrated. But also attention to the beautiful nature. Occasional tension due to predicaments.
The story of a mountaineer who fails the summit of Broad Peak on the first attempt and makes a second attempt is told through flashbacks. I find it messy.
Polish sounds less pleasant. This is undoubtedly because we see a lot of English-language films. Because of the language, the acting is difficult to estimate.
It was a long session, even though the film is only 100 minutes long. It didn't always matter.

Gosh yeah.
Mountain hiking always makes my heart beat faster. Climbing those mountains is a different matter. It is difficult for me to empathize with the motivations of such types as this Pole who still wants to achieve his goal x number of years after a failed expedition. There is little struggle and I think, after reading the story more or less diagonally, that the film could have done everything better. Now it is not much more than looking at a stubborn Pole in a relaxed manner.
