Bisang Seoneon plot
"Take your seat."
A plane departs from the South Korean port city of Incheon, bound for Hawaii. Experienced police detective In-ho stumbles upon a video threatening a terrorist attack on the plane. He also discovers that his wife is on board. From the ground he tries to find a way to prevent the attack. Meanwhile, Jae-hyuk, a passenger who is afraid to fly, tries to protect his daughter after being previously intimidated by a suspicious-looking man. When the news comes out that the plane is in danger, fear and chaos ensues.

The usual Korean mix of sentiment and spectacle in this well-crafted thriller about a terrorist attack on board a plane bound for Hawaii. The first hour is oppressive and exciting; after that the film slowly but surely gets bogged down in moralistic dramatic situations, although fortunately it never really gets cringeworthy. Too long and ultimately a bit too unbalanced, but I still had a great time with it.

Disaster film cum thriller with the crème de la crème of Korean cinema. Director Jae-rim Han pulls out all the stops to pull the viewer to the edge of his seat for almost 2½ hours. Not always believable, but exciting nonetheless.

Reasonable drama with thriller sauce. The story is quite nice. The effect can continue. The first part is thriller-like and the best part of the movie. The second part gets bogged down in some drama, with some tension and light spectacle towards the end. That part takes a bit too long and lapses into repetition with an unfortunately somewhat American (so predictable) ending. Visually everything looks good, with good special effects. The chaos scenes in the plane in particular are cleverly made with strong camera work. The acting is of an excellent level. 3.5
