"It's not a reboot. It's a comeback."
Chip and Dale live in a hybrid universe between cartoons and people in modern Los Angeles. However, their lives are very different now than they used to be. It's been decades since their hit television series was canceled and Nibble has put the past behind them. He has succumbed to a life of domesticity in the suburbs and now works as an insurance agent. Babbel, meanwhile, has undergone CGI surgery and attends nostalgic conventions for his fans, desperate to relive his glory days. When a former fellow cast member suddenly mysteriously disappears, Chip and Dale must mend their broken friendship and take on their Rescue Rangers detective characters one last time to save their friend's life.

Funny video. Although in fact the film revolves around a gimmick, it never gets boring or long-winded because there is enough fun happening with it. The film is entertaining, but it also falls silent at times. Yet it is mainly the fun in the film that stands out and that transfers to me as a viewer. Reasonable voice work, visually nice and actually not much else, but I also have little to say about it. 3.0*.

A Roger Rabbit 2.0 with Chip & Dale. The well-known duo from the 50s got a restyling in 89 as the adventurous Rescue Rangers. More recent than the old animations, but also more than 30 years old. It is therefore dangerous to make a film like this. No idea whether the new generation actually knows the two figure.
The film lacks the charm and a decent story like Roger Rabbit, but it's not bad in comparison. I also had to think of The Muppets in which the gang each led their own lives. There is some tension in it and the jokes come quickly and occasionally work. So in the end I enjoyed it a bit, although the whole is a bit of a mess and it relies a bit too much on those cameos and nostalgia for 30+ people.
