In the 23rd century, agent Aline Ruby [Léa Drucker] and her android Carlos [Daniel Njo Lobé] investigate a hack committed by Jun Chow [Geneviève Doang]. She stumbles upon a conspiracy that has major consequences for life on Mars and the harmony between 'real' people, clones and robots. Ambitious animated film with an impressive cast touches on interesting themes, but the animation is disappointing and the screenplay by Périn and Laurent Sarfati contains too much dialogue and too little action. It only gets going in the last quarter.

Nice animation style, cool design, nice world. But also the feeling that I have seen it all before, quite distant in tone (especially the voice work is monotonous) and sometimes somewhat messily told. Okay for 90 minutes, but actually just too long without really seeing anything special. 3.0*.

Real SF. Big ideas in a beautiful package. Beautiful drawings, although the faces remain a bit simple. We see all kinds of innovations such as artificially bred intelligent organisms, but the central focus is the autonomy of robots, which actually have their own emotional lives and desires, whether or not derived from the life of a real human who was backed up. A number of action scenes prevent the whole thing from becoming too philosophical or talky. And the initial murder mystery plot may seem a bit confusing (I still can't quite place the first scene), but eventually it becomes clear what the intention was and why. All in all, pretty decent.
