Last Train to Christmas plot
Tony Towers has a beautiful life. He has his own nightclubs, is a local celebrity and is going to marry the beautiful Sue. However, when he takes the train to Nottingham to celebrate Christmas with his family, strange things begin to happen. When Tony goes to the buffet car, he suddenly finds himself in the year 1995, where his clubs have failed and his life is a big failure. But it doesn't stop there: every time Tony changes carriages, he seems to be traveling through time.

Movies with the theme of time travel are rarely fun in my opinion. This comedy is no exception. It is an irregular mess that gradually becomes less and less to follow. A nice scene here and there, but that's about it.

Not bad in itself, this somewhat newer and environmentally friendly OV-based variant of the old story of the Three Ghosts of Christmas. But it takes a bit too long, and although it's nice how the grime keeps sticking an extra double chin on Michael Sheen's face, it doesn't always make it better. And then the gimmick is a bit too thin to fill the entire film with. Like the trick with the train car being just a little different each time - well done, do it again, that's about all it evokes in me.
Too bad Sheen doesn't really show that evil gray - that grin that I found the only positive point of the entire Twilight series. But that certainly wouldn't have suited this movie. The ending is also about the only really Christmas-like thing about the entire film, and that fits perfectly.
