Last year she already showed that she is quite an impressive director with 'Passing' but here she shows that she is also not to be underestimated in front of the camera; what an unparalleled role Hall delivers here as a paranoid mother who knows no boundaries to protect her daughter. It's a genre film so will probably be forgotten by the end of the year, but she can get a few nominations for this one.

Was this a strange viewing experience for me. The main character seems to be bewitched and is acting very strange. Her behavior becomes even more inexplicable as the film progresses, with the viewer becoming part of the misery. An arthouse production that leaves the viewer speechless. Nice!

Good film in which a woman gets upset when she meets a man from her past. A slow film that could have been a bit shorter and in which the man remains a bit too much of a mystery. The tension is slowly built up in a good way and Rebecca Hall again impresses with an intense role.
