Excellent film about a woman who lives in a remote area and has just lost her mother. A fairly slow film, but thematically quite full. Atmospherically portrayed, and not only because of the snowy landscape. A number of penetrating scenes and Thandie Newton plays an excellent role.

Professor Sandra [Thandiwe Newton] must come to terms with her own past when she encounters a group of men who are hunting on her land without permission. Her neighbor [Kai Lennox] doesn't see the problem and the (deputy) sheriff [Jeremy Bobb] doesn't seem to like the perpetrators too well either. In the run-up to the final confrontation, we discover in flashbacks why Sandra refuses to accept the current status quo. Well acted and full of beautifully filmed landscapes, but also slow and heavy-handed.
