Haute Couture plot
Jade, 20, one day steals a handbag on the Paris metro. As she examines the contents of this bag, Jade realizes that she has just robbed a worker from a similar background to hers. Full of remorse, she goes to the woman's house to return her things. When she rings the bell, Jade meets Esther, a woman of sixty years old. Esther's career as manager of Dior's sewing studio is nearing its end. Esther, who is on the ball, suggests to Jade that she pass on her seamstress skills, her one and only real wealth.

A feel-good drama about two women who seem to be each other's opposites. One is a lonely woman who will soon end her career as a milliner at a renowned fashion house. The other is a rebellious teenager from the banlieue, who hangs around on the streets a bit bored and seems to make pickpocketing her profession. The clash between the two of them is the starting point for a story about mutual empathy. Here and there the film has a credibility problem, but the acting of the experienced Nathalie Baye and the relative newcomer Lyna Khoudri make up for a lot. Quite a pleasant film.
