Rumba la Vie plot
Tony, a reclusive school bus driver in his fifties, lives alone after abandoning his wife and child twenty years earlier. Shocked by a heart attack, he finds the courage to face his past and enroll incognito in his daughter's dance class, whom he never met. He wants to win her back and give meaning to his life.

Entertaining feel-good film from France, in which director and lead actor Franck Dubosc knows exactly where he wants to go. This Rumba la Vie is not very ambitious, but that is of course not always a requirement in this kind of world. The acting is certainly good and the chemistry between Dubosc and Louna Espinosa is infectious, but the clichéd content unfortunately offers too little surprise. The finale also contains a missed opportunity by not doing the competition or another competitive alternative with a second chance, which makes the ending a bit dreamy. Fine material for a simple afternoon, this film does not pretend to be much more than that and is not.
