Heroes of Jamestown plot
This documentary shows the vital, little-known role of Poland in the creation of the United States. Jamestown, Virginia, the first English settlement in America, had fallen into disrepair a year after its founding. On October 1, 1608, five Poles reached the settlement: Michał Łowicki, Jan Bogdan, Zbigniew Stefański, Stanisław Sadowski and Jan Mata. They built a glass melting furnace in Jamestown and that's how the first American production came into being. To defend themselves against thieves and Indians, the Poles then built stronger fortifications on the island.
