Hitosh, Satsuki's lover, suddenly dies. Unable to cope with his death, she sinks into deep sadness. Satsuki keeps thinking about the moon shadow, which she heard about in the past. The moon shadow phenomenon is a mysterious event that allows a person to meet the deceased at the end of a full moon.

Melancholy drama about bereavement. There is little to criticize about the acting and camera work, but I was left with a depressing feeling about the film.

Satsuki [Nana Komatsu] mourns the tragic death of her lover Hitoshi [Hio Miyazawa] with his brother Hiiragi [Hima Satô], whose girlfriend [Nana Nakahara] died in the same accident. They discover that through a phenomenon called 'Moonlight Shadow' they can contact the dead at the end of a full moon and seek help to find the way to that 'Moonlight Shadow'. Poetic drama is beautifully filmed and has many striking moments, but is a bit heavy-handed, partly due to the moody score.
