Mlungu Wam plot
Tsidi is forced to move in with her mother from whom she has become estranged. The older woman is a housekeeper obsessed with her catatonic mistress, who is both white and rich. While Tsidi tries to reconnect with her family, she notices something strange about the mistress.

Oh dear.
Good Madam initially seemed like a project with some potential and ambition. At least, that's how it appeared. A film that could just about make it to Dutch cinemas. Then, while watching it, I discovered that the film fell far below average.
I'm not entirely sure what the current trend is for making horror films released in 2022 as dull and slow as possible, but Good Madam is completely indecisive. It never leaves its lazy chair to keep us, the viewers, even remotely engaged. The characters and the setting itself are simply too dull to be true, and the director's slow-moving editing doesn't help matters either.
Towards the finale, the film slowly but surely begins to liven up, but by the time it arrives, it's long too late. The film can't be saved if you struggle to get through the first 70 minutes so slowly and with such difficulty. Overall, the acting is decent, but the characters never really come to life. Good Madam is a complete odyssey. It's a real struggle to watch, as it simply fails to take off. Even the beautiful South African setting is neglected. Simply awful.
