Iran, at the present time. A family is on their way to a secret destination. The father is in a cast in the back of the car, but did he really break his leg? A father [Hasan Majuni] and mother [Pantea Panahiha] are on the road with their adult son [Amin Simair] and his much younger brother [Rayna Sarlak]. Mother quarrels with her youngest son about his refusal to throw away his mobile phone, immediately makes it clear that this family is not on its way to a holiday destination. The reason for this family road trip gradually becomes clear in this deliberately slow and unconventional family drama, which is interrupted at unexpected moments by a long sharp look into the camera of one of the main characters. Panahi uses that tool to give you insight into what lies behind the outward appearance of the character in question and thus arouses curiosity about the purpose and reason for the journey. As the final goal approaches, Panahi captures attention with Amin Jafari's stunning visuals and intriguing camera setups. Iranian road movie where the mischievous son steals the show. Solid debut from Panahi Junior who follows the same style as his father. I just wasn't completely gripped by the film, which just didn't catch on enough for me, except for a few fine passages.
I loved the first twenty minutes, then it got a little more serious. Although, humor and absurdity remained present, but differently. The scenes with the picked up cyclist and the strange purchase of sheepskins also had something.
The trip was not a pleasure trip. The older brother was deadly serious, in stark contrast to the ignorant little young man. Furthermore, fine acting and excellent cinematography, especially everything around and in the car.

This road movie about a troubled family undeniably delivers a number of beautiful scenes and pointed dialogues, but I sorely missed a coherent plot. Although the cinematography is fine, I'm usually used to better films from Iran.
