I only made the connection to the film Monster in one instance, and that's the scene with the prison interview. Otherwise, this film takes a completely different approach, and the concept is developed entirely differently. It also seems more like a work perfectly suited to certain typical TV channels that regularly air those B-thrillers. But honestly, I wasn't bored, and that's mainly due to Peyton List's convincing performance as Aileen Wuornos, who plays a truly mean bitch. Her facial expressions, actions, and charisma perfectly suit her role in this film—especially that of someone from the lower class with absolutely no dignity, upbringing, or respect. The comparison to Aileen herself is a different matter and probably less apt, but given the premise of this story, List certainly does a decent job. 5/10

An incomprehensible thriller film that plays so loosely with the facts that you wonder what director Daniel Farrands actually had in mind. In any case, the documentaries from his past are considerably more interesting and instructive than this kind of trash, in which Peyton List and Tobin Bell thankfully play commendable roles. A number of completely illogical plots are explored here, such as the heavy application of a Texas accent in Aileen's later years (while flashbacks reveal no trace of it) and the very limited coverage of her actual life. In essence, Farrands only highlights six weeks of her life and even distorts all sorts of elements within that. And when the story itself is also completely devoid of atmosphere and tension, it's not very helpful to the viewer.
