Building a Building plot
Mickey works as an excavator operator on a construction site, where Boris Boef is the foreman. Minnie delivers lunch meals there. Mickey pays more attention to Minnie than to his job, causing accidents. Boris steals Mickey's lunch, whereupon Minnie offers Mickey a free lunch. While Mickey is eating his new lunch, Boris kidnaps Minnie, whereupon Mickey tries to save her.

Five years after Steamboat Willie and the second year that a short animation could win an Oscar. This animation was also nominated, but lost to Disney's own Three Little Pigs. And rightly so, because Building a Building is a very busy animation with a series of corny gags. You can tell it hasn't been that long since the silent film era, because the music must echo so strongly in that time. It dominates the animation more than ever.
