Sisters with Transistors plot
"Electronic music's unsung heroines"
This is the story of the first female pioneers of electronic music. In a musical era largely dominated by men, this documentary traces the story of several emancipated women between the punch cards and Buchla synthesizers. New technologies expanded the possibilities and forever changed the way of writing and producing music. A fascinating look at the little-known yet groundbreaking influence of visionary artists such as Clara Rockmore, Daphne Oram, Bebe Barron, Pauline Oliveros, Delia Derbyshire, Maryanne Amacher, Eliane Radigue, Suzanne Ciani and Laurie Spiegel.
