Deena [Kiana Madeira] and Josh [Benjamin Flores Jr.] managed to save the life of Deena's friend Samantha [Olivia Scott Welch] at the end of Fear Street: 1994, but her body has been possessed by an evil spirit, presumably that of Sarah Fier, the witch who cast a curse on Shadyside when she was executed in 1666, making the village known as The Killer Capital. So they seek help from Cindy Berman [Gillian Jacobs], who miraculously survived a summer camp massacre in 1978. In this second episode of the Netflix trilogy based on the books of the same name by RL Stine. As the setting suggests, this contains some nods to Friday the 13th and for the enthusiasts there is more explicit violence than in Fear Street: 1994. Thanks to well-written characters and excellent acting, it still far exceeds the level of most recent slasher films, but is unfortunately considerably more conventional and predictable than its predecessor.

In the vein of the previous film, but then the well-known horror setting of a youth camp on a lake. A different zeitgeist, which gives the opportunity to give nods to other films from the horror genre. The film series is never top, but for horror fans with the many (subtle) references, it is not too bad. Although I expected more from the series.

I had to get into this story a bit, but in the end it was worth it. The cast didn't do too badly. The film is a continuation of the first film, I am curious about the last part.
