Mediocre action film. The story is weak and sometimes unnecessarily complicated, which is at the expense of credibility. The execution is also not very good and very superficial. The tension is unfortunately hard to find because the action scenes are too simple. Every shot is a hit, except in the final scene. Then the sights are suddenly less sharp. The acting is ok. Furthermore, the film looks neat. Unnecessary work. 2.0/2.5

Barry Pepper - we know him of course from his supporting role in Saving Private Ryan, where he mumbles pious prayers and kills one German after another with his sniper rifle - rushes like ducks at a fair. A role that apparently suits him well, because there are more of those kinds of serious and military characters that he has portrayed throughout his career. Generally also definitely meritorious.

This is probably the first leading role I've seen him play, and it's really wrong. He may stick to his favorite genre, but still, he's not very convincing. Whether that's due to his acting is the question - there's no honor to be gained from this cardboard character. And that's not even the worst part, because that's the plot - clearly the weakest point in this monstrosity. It's been a long time since I've seen such a piece of nonsense - such a crappy movie in which the hero always shoots blindly, until the moment it becomes important of course, because then he suddenly doesn't even hit a hangar within arm's reach. What crap.

There is very little positive to report. I won't talk about Pepper himself, but apart from him it is at best a B-cast. In a B-movie with a script that doesn't even fit in the alphabet anymore.

Since a disastrous CIA operation, secret agent Nicolas Shaw [Barry Pepper] has been living an anonymous life with an alternate identity. That life is shaken up by the arrival of Dwight [Carlo Rota] who is looking for him on behalf of CIA bigwig Elias Kane [Colm Feore] to persuade him to assassinate Elias' daughter [Eva Harlow], because she is said to be responsible for the failed CIA operation that cost the lives of several colleagues. Of course, there is a catch. On paper it may sound quite exciting, but there is hardly any action in this truly boring crime thriller with a sleepwalking Pepper.
