Giovanni, Luca and Claudio are the three sons of Elena, who was murdered by her ex-husband. Orphaned, the three children are taken into the care of the family of a distant cousin of the victim. The man faces challenges and difficulties in order to give the boys serenity.

With the terrible femicide in the background - and actually the most important thing because that is what the epilogue is devoted to - a successful film that is actually suitable for the entire family and is based on a true event.

Sentimentality is of course not excluded with such themes, but the film keeps it neatly within bounds and mainly emphasizes the difficulties of the foster parents in gaining full faith, trust and cooperation from the "new" children as their own, throughout their financial difficulties of all kinds.

Director Andrea Porporati seems to like such topics.
