Much of what is said in the documentary is not new in itself. You can close your eyes to it, but it is the reality. A 2006 study already concluded that there would be no fish left by 2048. If you look at the fish population estimates, it will likely happen this decade, in my opinion. It is all linked to the overpopulation of humanity. Every crisis that is looming is linked to it. If this is not addressed quickly, nature will do it for us. So, if you think about it twice, you know what is happening right now.

Even though this does not strike me as a documentary that deals with pros and cons neutrally, it is nevertheless shocking in content and, at the very least, eye-opening.
It is good that quite a few possible aspects regarding the state of our oceans and how humans interact with them are outlined, and that is why I watched this "Seaspiracy" with interest.
Unfortunately, we have to conclude that we run a real risk with our food and the way it is offered to us.
This document might just be a lifeline for anyone who wants to pay a little closer attention to their diet in the future.
It is strongly advised against for "gourmets" and bon vivants.

Tabrizi travels the world with his partner Lucy and discovers the disastrous consequences of the fishing industry and the forms of 'greenwashing' they use to maintain the image of companies and products. A typical case of a well-meaning amateur who (due to his lack of prior knowledge) makes so many shocking discoveries that he does not know how to turn them into a convincing documentary. The slaughter of dolphins in Japan, slavery on fishing boats in Japan, the hypocritical world behind sustainability labels, and the consequences of overfishing pass by at breakneck speed. Richard O'Barry (who was central to the considerably better *The Cove*) and the famous oceanographer Sylvia Earle lend credibility, but Tabrizi would have done well to turn this into a series. That would also have given the viewer the time to absorb the flood of information.
