In this documentary, we look for the legendary Brazilian musician and founder of bossa nova, João Gilberto, who hasn't shown himself in public for decades. We follow in the footsteps of the German author Marc Fischer, who reported on his quest in Hobalala but committed suicide a week before publication. Building on the clues from the book, we continue the search for João Gilberto and try to grasp the history and essence of bossa nova.
