De Sobibor Tapes – De Vergeten Interviews van Jules Schelvis plot

On October 14, 1943, a group of prisoners in the Sobibor extermination camp revolt against the SS guards. Forty years later, the Dutchman Jules Schelvis, himself a survivor of Sobibor, interviews twelve men and women who were involved in the uprising. Schelvis recorded the conversations with one of the first consumer cameras. The idea was to make a film with the material, to the great disappointment of Jules Schelvis, his documentary about the Sobibor uprising never materialized. Five years after his death, his life's work has now been realized by filmmaker Piet de Blaauw.
