Yes Day (2021)

A family film best suited for children. The story is quite well-conceived, but only succeeds in the first half. In the second half, the film sags and becomes a fairly standard comedy with some "adult" drama, though of course, there's still something for young people to learn. Otherwise, the film is very lighthearted and offers plenty of laughs, especially for younger audiences. The acting is decent. Garner is comfortable in her role and gives it her all. Visually, the film looks good. A great film for kids. 2.5

A fun family film, provided your children are 8 or older. Not particularly outstanding. The cast is excellent and sufficiently enthusiastic. The storyline is a bit thin, perfect for a quick Sunday afternoon watch.

Yes Day: a painfully tame family film. It also doesn't help that we watched the Dutch dubbed version. But even if you watch (or listen) through that, it's unbearable. The kids want to go through the car wash with the windows down. Well, then you've wrecked your whole car. Apparently, the parents had good insurance, because they laughed like idiots. A far-too-long scene with a water balloon fight, and as if that weren't bad enough, Fortune Feimster—that insufferable lesbian from the Arnold series Fubar—appears in a supporting role.
