Director Steven Soderbergh once again brings out an impressive cast, but this lackluster film noir is unnecessarily complex in terms of plot and at the same time actually quite boring. Certain scenes and especially the dialogues are quite good, but the whole thing is barely captivating and you've seen it all before and especially better. Matt Damon has a nice uncredited supporting role.

Good film about a number of criminals who are hired to do a seemingly easy job. An entertaining story in which enough happens. This crime film is set in the mid-fifties and has a stylish setting (including matching music). A cast with quite a few familiar names and Steven Soderbergh may not be able to surprise, but delivers solid work.

Great picture. The big names do their job and the story does its best, although it eventually becomes a doublecrossingfestwhere it seems to get tangled up in itself. It all goes a bit calmly, but the atmosphere is fine. The fisheye lens is very annoying and adds nothing, except that you regularly look at out-of-focus and distorted images.
All in all a nice snack that is less bad than the average here would suggest.
